I'm glad you came to this page, we'll talk about all kinds of neat stuff like Satan and Dilbert. Uh, not that the two are related.
|
My Dilbert stress toy has been a great companion for sometime, and when I was thinking of something strange to say in my inquiry about easter eggs in NWN to BioWare, my Dilbert doll stayed perfectly still and glared at me, which is all he ever seems to do since the accident. We asked the question and included Dilbert in it, and after Trent Oster responded with, "I choooose yooou, Dilbertemon!!!" he went on to say that easter eggs are put into a game "when we're all bleary-eyed, pizza-fattened, and demented from the onslaught of crunch time." Luckily, he went on to say the easter eggs are to be bizarre or humorous, but not ever powerful. Like most people, we enjoy the ever powerful easter eggs… but only when we're the ones to have them. Seeing as that wouldn't always be possible, we appreciate BioWare's decision on easter eggs.
Before we get to the serious conclusion, I'd also like to add that for anyone out there who had planned on playing Neverwinter Nights, we saved your souls. No, no… don't thank us all at once, just know that we are serious. As I was writing up questions for the interview, I was surrounded by a bright light and compelled to ask the question, 'Just checking, but there aren't any clauses in the license agreement to play online that would sell our souls to Satan? I'm always afraid to click the "Yes" button on agreements to play games online for free.' It turns out, BioWare had evil plans for world domination by doing just that.
You can thank us via e-mail later.
And we are kidding.
Really.
Ok, back to the conclusion:
Neverwinter Nights has more than just a lot going for it. It has a whole lot. (That's more than a lot because I added the word "whole.") Great graphics, the promise of smooth online play, and an online story telling experience unlike anything that's graced the Internet before. BioWare has a proven track record of great games, and Baldur's Gate sucked up enough of my time to warrant further research of this newest undertaking. Pair all of that with a strong publisher (Interplay), who was nice enough to quote us in one of their Baldur's Gate ads, and you know this game is going to rock. And for anyone out there who doesn't have a PC or prefers to use Linux, NWN is being developed for Linux, Mac, and PC simultaneously. BioWare suggested you drop on by at www.NeverwinterNights.com, and we think you should to… but only after you click on every single page on our site, it won't work otherwise. (Legal disclaimer: We're kidding, that would just be a cheap way to get hits. Actually, you need to go to every page twice).
