And you thought the last thing you did to upset your parents was really bad…

A big thing I got in trouble for as child was complaining about having to stop watching a TV show called something like, "Why Didn't I Think of That?" to go help my parents stack wood. I wouldn't have been quite so perturbed, but Popeye had just made a guest appearance and coming up was an 8 year old's burrito holder invention… and it made me upset that I was unable to finish the show. I got in a lot of trouble for complaining about that, but let's pretend you live in a mystical world and go by the name of Joseph. Imagine now that you summon a demon to aid your fellow villagers in defeating enemy attackers only for the demon to turn around and slaughter your loved ones.

And I thought getting in trouble for complaining was bad.

The young boy responsible for summoning that demon is one of the few gifted people capable of summoning creatures to his aid, but his poor control of that power at such a young age resulted in the deaths of his fellow villagers. Witnessing such carnage first hand, he swore never to summon again, and was also exiled from his home. Like any vow you make when your mind is immature and you are young, eventually that was bound to change… and it just happened to be in Joseph's destiny that he would once again summon.

Eventually Joseph meets an older man by the name of Yago. Yago took Joseph under his wing and encouraged him to fulfill his destiny, to learn to summon. However, you can't just call rocket launching devil goats out of thin air… wait… damn. Anoop Shekar of Volition Inc. let us know that they decided to remove the RLDG from the game because they decided against rocket jumping early on in the game's development. Ok, so let's say you can't just summon a golem out of thin air. First, you need to collect summoning rings, which are placed all around the world. You can find them in many places, and you will have to search for them to gain access to more power. What do you need all this power for? Well you see… while all this is going on, an invading army is marching across the countryside signifying an impending doom for all who oppose them. This world's summoners have been known to challenge entire empires with their immense power, but without the rings, our young Joseph can't do much more than give these armies a really, really mean look.

Throughout the game, Joseph matures and gains confidence in his abilities and his mission. He won't be the same unsure boy he is in earlier parts of the game later on. The story is linear in the sense certain objectives must be completed to get to new areas, but what you do in-between these objectives and even what methods you use to complete those said objectives is left up to you. I really wonder whether or not the game will feature a brothel, as that is a growing trend in RPGs. You can find prostitutes or brothels in the Fallout games, Septerra Core, Baldur's Gate, and Planescape-Torment. I wonder what strange ways brothels could be added to a fully 3D game. Ah… the possibilities…
