Anyone who claims MDK was not a fun game has one wacky opinion… but anyone who claims MDK wasn't original, inventive, amusing, and just plain different is a lunatic. The irony here, is the wacky and the lunatics belong in the world of MDK. And soon, very soon, they will wish to be in the world of MDK 2. I could go into an elongated monologue discussing why the original MDK was so nifty, but are you really that interested? I should think if you haven't tried the game by now or at least know of it, you're smart enough to hunt down a page with information on it. So now, without further adeu… I bring you the MDK 2 Preview! Well, maybe just a bit more adeu. We conducted an interview with Greg Zeschuk, prominent BioWare guru and the Executive Producer of MDK 2. If you'd like to skip ahead and read the full interview text, just go here now. Otherwise… here goes the preview.

If you have yet to keep up on the development of MDK 2, you might be surprised to have read a BioWare employee is working on MDK 2. Shiny is hard at work developing Messiah right now, so someone had to take hold of the coils on Kurt Hectic's famous suit, and it just happened that BioWare caught hold of those said coils. There is some doubt they can make the anticipated game as exciting or amusing as the original, but BioWare's track record of success ought to speak for itself. And when the day comes that track records gain vocal abilities, you can bet it will do just that. Until then, we can always bug Greg Zeschuk about how much pressure is put on BioWare for undertaking this grand feat; here's what he said:

"There's a fair amount of pressure, especially since Shiny did such a great job with the original MDK. MDK was a really great game and if we don't deliver something as good or better everyone will be a little disappointed. The thing with game development is that you can't just do an average game and expect to be successful, every title has to be a home run and we're certainly working hard to make sure MDK2 is a zinger."

To all the skeptics who still do not trust MDK 2's development in BioWare's hands… you should realize one very important fact. One of MDK 2's lead programmers has a monkey puppet, and the art director has a monkey toy with a drum and cymbals sitting on his desk. Into what better hands could MDK 2 have fallen? Monkey lovers have been proven to create better games, although devout Shiny fanatics are more than likely still wary of MDK 2's development. So let's get into exactly what you can expect in this game; just click below to go the gameplay section.
