id has always been known for making quality games, which I might also add have been BIG sellers (the past 3 have sold over
a million copies each). But there is a lot of competition this year between Tribes, Unreal Tournament, and Valve's Team
Fortress 2, all of which are online games. What will keep Quake 3: Arena on top? People have been waiting for the next
installment of the Quake series for quite a while now, so expect a mass rush to stores when the game is finally released.
id has never had a problem getting their games to the top of the charts, so don't expect this to be a failure, even if it
is a DM only game. Both TF2 and Starsiege Tribes have their own unique feel. The only direct competitor to Q3A would be
Unreal Tournament. Which one will be better? That I can't say for sure. Which one will sell better? I think we all
know the answer to that. Each game has their highs and lows. Read our preview of UT here and judge for yourself.
So what ever happened to Trinity? Many say that Quake 3: Arena is Trinity. But id isn't saying, and they just might have
a nasty little surprise for us down the road. So how does DOOM 2000 sound?
