Gears are starting to sound cool... here's some more info for ya.

There are a lot of weapons available, and they are broken into four different classes: projectiles, indirect, missiles, and energy weapons. Projectiles are all types of machine guns and auto-cannons, pretty much anything that fires bullets. Missiles are (get ready), all weapons that involve missiles. I know I know... surprising stuff, but it's the truth. The indirect set of weapons involves all grenades and mortar cannons. Energy is my favorite set, because the weapons have some of the coolest looking effects. The Heavy Pulse Laser Cannon shoots a thick red beam that can be used to melt your enemy or heat up a burger in a pinch. Missile weapons are neat; the light, medium, and heavy sets all do different amounts of damage and fire at different speeds. Missiles will fly forward in swarms weaving back and forth as they approach the enemy. Many a Gear have mistaken the missiles for the large, native mosquitoes and lost their arms in an attempt to swat them away. The grenades are nice to keep along as they pack quite a bunch. It is important that you throw the grenade and keep the pin, since the other way around can be harmful to your Gear's well being.

Also included in the game is a tactical overhead map for the strategy gamer in all of us. This lets you view the whole map and plan out your attacks, once again adding some strategy elements to the game. This is useful when preparing for big attacks on strongholds. It is not good to just run into an enemy camp, guns blazing, hoping you will be able to kill everyone. The other Gears are smart, and they won't go down so easy. It will take a bit of maneuvering just to out wit a single enemy Gear, much less a small force of them. Any time you need to run, wheels do the best job. You can also use your jump jets to avoid a swarm of incoming rockets or other potentially harmful projectiles. If they are desperate and begin throwing pieces of grass and bark from trees at you, those can be equally harmful, and you must dodge quickly. These ingenious weapons are known to leave small green and brown streaks on your uniform, making your appearance very bad in front of senior officers.

The cinematics in the game are awesome. The intro shows Gears hopping out of a transport aircraft and attacking an enemy stronghold. The Gears keep attacking until the place is secure. The video was very much like a movie in that it was very professional. The Gears look cool in the videos when running around blowing things up. When you start the single player campaign a video starts off the story and shows a location being blown up by an unknown force.
