Diablo 2 plans on having five character classes which will add many more play options and ways to kill monsters, not that killing monsters is fun or anything.

As stated above, Diablo 2 will feature five totally unique character classes. So henceforth I bring you (in no particular order) the classes! Medieval trumpet sounds please...

Amazon
Suffice to say this is one tough bitch. Belonging to a band of nomads that wandered the plains near the North Sea, she is skilled with the bow, throwing weapons such as the spear, as well as hand to hand combat. The Amazon is also looked upon as a mercenary, who will serve loyal as long as her own needs are seen through. Her four known skills are Vital Shot, Entangle, Hurl, and Dodge.
Vital Shot: Allows the Amazon to stop for a minute and take aim at her enemy. This allows her to send an arrow screaming through the targets eye-socket, heart, or other vital places.
Entangle: Used in conjunction with the Spear, the Amazon will trap an enemy, rendering him immobile. From here, the Amazon can do as she wishes with him...
Hurl: This particular spear will allow the Amazon to literally hurl a throwing object at an enemy with such force that the object breaks up upon impact. However, a direct hit will deal an extraordinary amount of damage.
Dodge: This allows the Amazon to move quicker than the eye out of harms way.

Necromancer
From the dark labyrinth's and swamps of the south comes a mysterious figure of which nobody knows much about. The Necromancer is a sorcerer, whose spells deal with the raising of the dead for his own control. He is mostly in the studies of forces of light, however some do not think that his spells and studies justify his means. Although he is a skinny, pale like figure, nobody doubts the ultimate power of Necromancy. His four known spells are the Summon Familiar, Raise Dead, Binding, and Vampiric Touch.
Summon Familiar: Much like a golem in the original, this small, winged magical creature serves the Necromancer's will, and ultimately his eyes and ears when separated.
Raise Dead: This spell allows the Necromancer to raise the dead! Well, just their skeletons anyway.
Binding: When cast upon an enemy, this gives the victims will and soul to the Necromancer, and will ultimately even fight his former comrades.
Vampiric Touch: When activated, this will drain the life of an enemy and add it to your own. Even worse when used with a staff or sword.
