Imagine, if you will, a peaceful land known as Ahkuilon. Civilization here is advanced, and life is going well for everyone. Was it a Utopia? Well, not quite. See… some powerful people within this civilization began mucking around with primal powers far beyond their control, and the end result was far from pretty. The entire world as it was known ceased to exist, and a new world emerged. "Civilization" can hardly describe the current state of Ahkuilon; everything was destroyed and man kind thrown into a primal, barbaric state. The land is essentially broken, large cracks in the ground spew forth molten lava, monsters lurk about in the most unpredictable of spots, and it isn't even safe for farm animals to graze the open fields… if any farm animals had been spared, that is. All sorts of elemental forces are at work here, and they are unpredictable at best.

Humanity must join together to protect themselves from the outside world. Behind somewhat safe boundaries people have come together under the protection of three mighty Warlords. Now the big problem here, is these Warlords are all fighting amongst themselves for power. Recently a woman was kidnapped. This woman is of a great importance to her father, one of the three Warlords. Wishing to exact revenge on the rival Warlord that ordered the kidnapping, he summons a champion from Ahkuilon's past. This man is a powerful warrior known as Locke, and after centuries of being dead he is now resurrected to avenge the captors of the Warlord's daughter. As Locke, you soon realize you have no memory of your past. More time spent among the living means more memories will return, and more fighting skills remembered. As a Revenant (essentially an undead warrior) you may soon find out there is more behind your choosing as the champion to rescue the kidnapped lady than pure chance.

Wielding large weapons and powerful magic, Revenant will be mostly an action/combat RPG. This means the gameplay revolves mainly around combat but does not limit you to only that. Interaction with other characters to find out why you must go to certain places is necessary, and skill will be required in not only destroying your foes but also disarming or avoiding dangerous traps. The story will progress as key events in the game take place, and it seems in-depth enough to hold player's attention throughout the game. The story may at first seem somewhat original, but the dark spin on it makes for an interesting environment and game atmosphere… which is something very important in this sort of game.
