Listen closely, fellow gamers, for there is much to hear. BioWare must be having internal problems, just look at Greg Zeschuk's response to my inquiry about monkeys with 3DGN spray painted on them.
"I'm not sure where you heard this from - it is patently untrue! Ironically, you're not the first person to demand a monkey in MDK2. There are two monkeys involved in the development of MDK2. Cameron (the lead programmer and assistant producer on MDK2) has a monkey puppet that he sometimes wears and Russ (the art director) has a really spooky puppet with a drum and cymbals sitting on his desk. It gives me nightmares."
See? Can you understand it? There are conflicts within BioWare! They must be st-
Hi. I'm the guy hired to finish this preview, we had to fire the last writer after he went nuts, stole a laptop, and typed up the first 3 pages of this preview in a bell tower with a shotgun. At any rate… I believe my esteemed colleague (now enjoying a nice stay in the local sanitarium) was trying to say he has immensely high hopes for BioWare's success in developing MDK 2. They are working their hardest to make a single player game that will blow your socks off… or maybe just flip your lids.
One often neglected aspect of games is their respective endings. I'm very sick and tired of "Yay! You beat the game!" endings. What can we do about it? Aside from slinging mud at game developers, we can ask ahead of time about the game and get a response saying that the given developer will be hard at work on the ending! That way, if the ending sucks, we can call them liars and get them fired so we can steal their jobs. Sound good? Here was Zeschuk's response to our cleverly deceptive question:
"I think the ending will cause all player to completely flip their lids! We're going to allow the players to choose which character they want to use to finish the game. The final battle itself will be different for each character. That's just what I can discuss at this point, we've got a lot more planned."
Now it's in print, and he'll have to live up to it! Muwahaha! Actually, BioWare's focus on story should be enough to ensure a great ending, but we like to pretend we're clever… and we don't have many of those moments, so let us enjoy it.
I'd like to thank Greg Zeschuk again for agreeing to listen to our bickering and "questions," which made this preview of higher quality than otherwise! Then again, that might not be saying much. This isn't completely over yet, stay tuned to read the full text between Greg and I for your viewing pleasure… just click "BELOW." (Note: We've made it patently obvious where to click this time, due to the flood of e-mails asking where the word "below" was found).
