Of course, nothing is perfect, and Rainbow Six did have its flaws. Now what is there to look forward to… more of the same? Course not. This time out, we get a whole new engine. We get new AI. We get weather conditions and new uniforms. Sheee…it, with all of that, will there be any reason to leave the house anymore? I hope not. My skin just burns with the summer sun, and I don't like the smell of suntan lotion unless it's on the underside of my dog's belly… long story. Anyhow, I am expecting great things here, after all, it couldn't be any worse than that other sequel we saw this year… you know, that one with that crappy Jar-Jar character.
This go round, we are looking at new motion captures: 400 new ones, up from the 150 we saw in the original. This means we get to enjoy our enemies' agony with more realism and diversity than we saw with the last title. Who doesn't like to watch their nemesis bent over and groaning in agony? I remember shooting some of the baddies in non-vital areas just to slow the process of their demise. Trust me, I will pop quite a few more in the kneecaps just to watch the terror in their eyes this time around.
For all of you who barked and yelled about the seemingly retarded Tangos in the last slugfest. This time the AI was completely reworked. No more shooting some jerk in the face and then picking off his completely oblivious friend who was standing right next to the poor sap whose face is now decorating the carpet. This time, the enemy will flee and find cover. Chase him and you might find your own face on the floor. The bad guys look for a good nest to pop the opposition into the Hereafter. They aren't stupid this time. They want to live to see the next Austin Powers Sequel too.
Last time, the boys at Rainbow Six enjoyed clear skies while they were killing off the bad apples of this world. This time, rain and snow will be a factor. You will leave footprints when you are creeping through the fresh powder of a late snowfall. Rain will fall and naked ladies will dance in the dreams of each and every team member. O.K. maybe there won't be any naked ladies, but don't go thinking that this game will be any worse off because there are none.
