What would CTF be without tech powerups? ...Hmm. Probably pretty boring. Fortunately for us, Ritual agrees, and they have brought some really interesting tech powers into SinCTF.

Let's get through the standard ones, first. We have the shield. This handy gadget doesn't slice, doesn't dice, and it doesn't make thousands of Julianne fries. What it does do is takes away two-thirds of your damage away, leaving you to continue to take one-third. But wait, there's more!

Double damage (man, what's with all this math. Thirds. Double. Is this the SAT or something?) doubles your damage. I wish I could say more about it than that, because if I just leave it that short this won't be much of a paragraph and the layout will be funny on the page. I guess that's just something I have to deal with, though, right?

The regeneration tech is similar to autodoc. It gives you some health back as you run around and such, and maxes out at 200. It's very nice if you don't like to die too much, because you can just run away like the little pansy you are and let your health build back up.

On the opposite end of the tech powerup spectrum is the death quad. The death quad is very silly, as far as I have found, because although it quadruples (more math! arrrgg!) your damage, it takes away health. That's right, it can kill you. Combined with the bullets in your head taking away health, now is a handy time to bind a key to 'droptech' (without the quotes).

The final tech powerup is my personal favorite, the empathy shield. What the empathy shield does is takes half the damage you receive, and applies it to your attacker. This is a great way of taking out that pesky sniper you can't seem to find. Just put on the empathy shield, walk out into the open, and bang! When he kills you, he will feel your pain! And, you get credit for the kill.

They also added the off-hand grapple, so you can grapple around like Spiderman. It's not quite as fast as Q2's grapple, and has no use as a weapon (which is a good thing). It can be used to counter your fall damage, but it doesn't go faster than you fall, so you need some good timing to make it take care of you.

One final touch they put in is vehicles. They added these on one level, and boy are they sweet. You can run people over, pull a drive by, jump, or just drive really fast with the flag. It's not a hoverbike, like in WOS, either. It's a full fledged four wheeler. The only problem is… four wheelers can explode, which is not a happy time.
